Good food and good company – two essential ingredients in my life growing up. As a family we connected over a meal – whether fighting my cousins for a piece of Umma’s (Dad’s mum) jaggery hoppers as a child; sipping warm milk with bananas every New Year’s Eve at Grandma and Grandpa’s house; or doing the dishes with my friends after countless meals hosted at home by Mum and Dad. Food brought us together.
These moments are etched in my memory and over the years, have shaped my love of baking. It became completely normal to have an audience as I worked, watching the process unfold and occasionally giving it a go. I noticed that the creative process got a lot more appreciation when they saw it come together, bit by bit. Yet, the opportunity for people to give decorating a whirl for fun didn't exist.
So, last month, I tried something a little different and gathered seven women in my world to spark a new venture for Oh That Be Good as we connected over cake. It felt like stepping into a giant hug! They embraced an idea and transformed a concept into a reality, helping me run my first cake workshop and gather feedback along the way. And just like that 'In Good Company' was born.
I am so excited to be able to finally share this initiative that has been in the making over the past month. At its core, Oh That Be Good is all about creating connections over cake. My cake decorating workshops are designed to help you do just that. Hang out, have a good time and unleash your creativity. Made for bridal showers, kitchen teas, birthdays or special occasions of any kind, this offering is the perfect accompaniment to any celebration.
